I can help you manage the transition to life with a new baby by taking some of your day-to-day responsibilities off your hands. I will also be a listening ear in the newness and change of being a new mom.
My goal is to give you the breathing room you need to begin your own recovery and to continue bonding with your baby. I want you to be rested and relaxed enough to enjoy this special part of the journey.
Your Postpartum Doula Support package will be
custom designed to meet your specific needs and desires.
Here are a few examples of the types of services I can provide:
Hands-on help with newborn care in your home. I will show you how to bathe the baby, how to feed him, how to change him, how to hold and cuddle him, what to do when he cries, and whatever else you need.
When a new baby arrives in the household, it feels like the sun rises and sets on the newborn. The baby’s every whimper and wail can disrupt the entire family. Oftentimes, partners and other children feel left out. They may be hesitant, maybe even a little afraid, to interact with the baby. I will demystify this tiny, demanding creature and help your partner and other kids become comfortable around the new family member.
Your baby does not come with instructions. And although there are standard ways of caring for newborns, every baby is an individual. Your child may have her own ideas about how she wants to be held or fed. Together we’ll figure out what works best for your baby.
You probably didn’t get a lot of housework done during the last few weeks of your pregnancy. I offer a full range of household services.
I can take care of the baby and let you take a rest. We can do that every day if that’s what you need.
I can help you get your household organized and take care of chores like light cleaning, doing the dishes, and taking out the trash. I’m happy to run your errands. Go to the post office. Pick up a prescription at the pharmacy or take your dog for a walk.
Pregnancy and childbirth are wonderful experiences. But they are also physically traumatic. I can provide the recovery support that you need to regain your energy and to feel and look your best.
I can also help with meal planning. I’ll do the grocery shopping and put the groceries away. If you like, I can prepare meals and snacks in your kitchen.
I can provide feeding and lactation information and support tailored to your situation and concerns.
